Newspapers. Although they do seem to be more of an obsolete part of society with each digitally-advancing year, they are absolutely still an interwoven part of our news system. Each day on the subway, I see countless numbers of people reading their newspapers. Most of them are dressed professionally, on their way to work I'd guess. It makes me wonder: how many business professionals are arriving to the same offices each day with the same newspapers in hand?
If even a few people at your office have made a habit of reading the same newspaper regularly, it'd make a lot more sense economically and environmentally if your office took up the art of sharing the newspaper.
Try shooting an email out to your office about newspaper sharing. My guess is that your colleagues will be down for the cause—who wouldn't want to save money in times like these? Sharing in the office is a great way to do just that. A handful of people pitching in for the paper every day is far cheaper than everyone buying the same paper individually. The paper could easily be passed around on breaks and at lunch to make sure everyone gets to check out the news for the day.
Just another small way to make a big difference at the office!
