Ah, recycling—a pillar of the green movement, and one way that millions of people show their support for eco-friendly action. And yet, for many recycling begins and ends when that big green bin gets dragged out to the end of the driveway. There are in fact a slew of other extremely helpful—and extremely easy—ways to recycle. Take your old cell phone, for example.

Instead of just letting an old model sit around the house collecting dust, eventually going out with the garbage, make sure to recycle that clunky old phone. So what should you do? Well, Treehugger has 50 ideas that make for a good place to start. Many retailers will take your old phone, and make sure it goes into the proper recycle-ready hands.

Case in point: if you're picking your new one up at Best Buy, just bring your old one and drop it in their recycling bin—they'll even donate a dollar to charity for each one they receive. Just make sure to delete any sacred info from the phone before you get rid of it.
