Life has many unsolved mysteries—not the least of which is what happens to socks that get lost in the dryer. And while we can't answer that for you, we can provide this handy tutorial for putting the remaining socks to good use as sweet and spooky Halloween skeleton decorations.
Robert Mahar of Mahar Dry Goods showed Martha Stewart's audience how to make this project last week, using two white socks, thread, scissors, and stuffing (a sewing machine will speed things up, but if you don't have one, you can hand-sew instead). Mark the ribs, eyes, and mouth with embroidery thread, and use the length of the socks to make dangling, bony legs and arms.
