While eco-techies are meeting in New York to discuss greener gadgets, young climate change activists will be convening in Washington, DC, for The Power Shift '09. Billed as the first major youth rally since the election, Power Shift '09 will bring as many as 10,000 young people to the nation's capital to "elected officials accountable for rebuilding our economy and reclaiming our future through bold climate and clean energy policy."

Events held from February 27 to March 2, 2009, will include seminars, panels and workshops, a green career fair, legislative briefings, and activist training. Politicians, including Nancy Pelosi, and performers including The Roots, will be in attendance, along with several activists and advocacy groups.

If you can't make it to DC for the even itself, you can help spread the word online and help raise money for the movement.

Follow the action at the Power Shift '09 blog.
