There is a tendency to put the home office in an undesirable location; after all, most of the places in a house are taken. But you are going to be putting in a lot of hours, you have to be able to concentrate and you have to stay healthy. You will need a bit of privacy from the kids; even Teddy Roosevelt had trouble coping, reportedly saying about his oldest daughter: "I can be president of the United States, or I can control Alice. I cannot possibly do both."
