READ MORE ABOUT:
One year ago today, Discovery Communications made television history by launching Planet Green, the first 24-hour channel dedicated to the environment. A multi-platform channel, Planet Green shares fun and engaging tips on eco-friendly living and taking action for the environment. Complimenting its 16 TV shows are Planetgreen.com and Treehugger.com, which provide green solutions, videos, slideshows, quizzes and blog posts about green living. Show hosts get involved by authoring online journals on Planetgreen.com
| "Every show we produce, every story we post and every campaign we create will support our mission of legacy, of advocacy and to future thinking. We strive to produce compelling and entertaining television that viewers will embrace." says Laura Michalchyshyn, President and General Manager of Planet Green. |
In celebration of Earth Month 2009, Planet Green jumped into action, helping coordinate thousands of volunteers in events across the country. The month culminated on Earth Day with the Green Apple Festival, a final celebration and thank you to volunteers, viewers, and everyone interested in living green. Look out for ways to get involved everyday on Planetgreen.com and Treehugger.com
