Something tells me you aren't going to be very surprised to find out that Dave Matthews Band is an eco-friendly band. Perhaps I assume so much because of their tendency to play their happy-go-lucky music at outdoor festivals and they aren't slow to voice their opinions on any matter—and that includes the environment.

Dave Matthews Band members are all members of Charlottesville, Virginia's Community Yellow Bicycles Program. The musicians helped the program out by scattering free bicycles all over the town, their hometown, in order to promote eco-friendly travel.

In addition to being bicycle-lovers, the band also has a few other green notches on their belt. They've teamed up with NativeEnergy and Clean Air-Cool Planet. Through their work with these programs, they have offset 100% of the carbon dioxide pollution that their touring has caused since 1991. That's a lot of pollution. Dave Matthews Band is one of those bands that tours a whole lot and they have been at it for years.

Naturally, the band is touring this summer, too. Go support them and rest easy knowing they're doing all they can do to offset the impact of their tour. You can find their tour dates on Pollstar.
