Green Living Project

The Green Living Project is making its way across the country with a free multimedia lecture tour, inviting anyone who's curious to stumble through its eco-friendly doors. Every stop is an all-ages event, and should be chock full of illuminating environmentally focused concepts. In 2008, the Green Living Project documented sustainability projects in Africa, which will be the subject of what looks to be a fascinating series of presentations.

The GLP Lecture Series is, well, they probably put it best: from the website.

The "Green Living Project™ Lecture Series" offers free multi-media events that are open to the public, attracting a wide audience from high school students to working professionals to retired baby boomers...Attendees learn about the geographic regions covered, local communities, examples of sustainability, and responsible tourism.

Along with presenting partner National Geographic Adventure, the GLP will take you on a multimedia tour through 20 sustainability projects taking place across seven different African countries. It'll be a good opportunity to join other green aficionados in taking a closer look at environmentalism in far-flung countries like Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia and South Africa.

Again, from the web:

This inspiring multi-media presentation focuses on unique sustainability projects including community development, water conservation, organic farming, women's empowerment, solar and biogas renewable energy programs, mountain gorilla, cheetah, leopard, rhino and hyena conservation projects...

If you're interested in attending, there's a full lecture tour schedule available at the GLP website.
