Headed to President-elect Obama’s inauguration in Washington, D.C.?

Make a pre-inaugural pit stop and party with Planet Green, musical performer Wyclef Jean and other likeminded eco-philes at The Green Inaugural Ball happening in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, January 17.

Tickets are a whopping $500 but it’s a small price to pay considering the unlimited organic hor d’oeurves, organic open bar, inspiring speeches and complimentary valet--though the event is strongly urging attendees to leave the car parked to use D.C.’s clean and green METRO.

The green (and bang-for-your-buck) won’t stop there. The Grammy-award winning and socially-inspired song-writer Wyclef Jean will get the party started with a special performance.

Your contribution will also be in support of the venue’s sustainable system including efforts to recycle, compost and carbon offset so you can celebrate the inauguration without leaving an impact on the environment.

Since the event is Green (or Black) tie, get your tuxedo or ball gown ready (if you don’t have one consider snagging one up at your nearest thrift or vintage shop) and get ready for a fancy, eco-friendly time rubbing elbows in D.C.

And you may want to keep your eyes peeled for President-elect Obama and Vice President-elect Biden. They were sent invitations!
