Celebrate the end of your work week by gathering up some friends, and testing out one of these plans for a fun green Winter's evening. Dim the lights and fire up some sustainable candles for extra atmosphere, then get ready to chill out.

  1. Game Night
Instead of hunkering down for an evening in front of a glowing screen, invite your friends to join you around the dining room table for a night of lo-fi recreation. Bust out a deck of cards, play some board games, or even whip out the dominoes if you're feeling retro. Nothing encourages people to relax and open up like a good game night, since even wallflowers will have to get involved in the fun, so it's a great way to get to know new friends better.

  2. Organic Coffee or Beer Taste Test
Find a new favorite sustainable brew by doing a blind coffee taste test of sustainable coffees. Once you've picked a group favorite, drink to your discovery by pouring another round of the winning java, this time spiked with a splash of whiskey. Or, skip the coffee and get right to the party by sampling an array of organic beers.

  3. Green Arts and Crafts
Instead of simply frittering the night away, why not whip up something neat out of recycled or sustainable materials? Crafting and DIY projects are, like, so hot right now, and a lot of what you'll need to make, say, nifty holiday decorations or a gorgeous and funky new notebook might be hiding right in your recycling bin.
