Driving around town and completing errands can be a real hassle. Making your errands more efficient can help relieve some of that hassle. And better yet, by being more efficient, you'll cut down on gasoline consumption and waste. Here are some tips:
- Make a list of things you will need. Keep the list with you. You'll prevent unnecessary trips and save gas. It will also prevent you from buying things that you don't need, and you'll save on waste.
- Group your errands. Figure out what needs to get accomplished and try to do them all at one time. Plan your route as to save on gas.
- If possible, see if your errand can be done online or over the phone.
- Run your errands close to home. Use a bike if possible.
- Do errands at off hours when traffic is light. This will save gas and reduce idling.
- Keep a drawer or a file in your home for prescriptions, warranties, receipts and other errand-ly paperwork. Make a habit of checking this file before doing your errands.
