The treatment of farm animals is an ongoing tragedy and that's why we need places like the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary (FAS).
About the Sanctuary
Founded by Jenny Brown and Doug Abel, the Woodstock FAS sits in New York's Catskill Mountains, providing shelter to cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, rabbits, ducks and geese who have been rescued from cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment. Jenny and Doug explain:
"At the heart of our mission is the hands-on work of rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for farm animal refugees—as well as educating the public about the horrific treatment of animals who are raised in large, industrial factory farm systems."

Comedy for Karma
The brutal realities of the meat-based diet doesn't necessarily mean raising money and awareness to help animals can't be fun and empowering. With that in mind, I'm happy to tell you about a star-studded comedy benefit in New York City for the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary:
The 3rd Annual Comedy for Karma
Thursday, April 1st, 8:00pm / doors 7:30pm
Gotham Comedy Club
208 West 23rd Street
between 7th & 8th Avenues
The funds raised will go directly to the care of over 200 rescued animals at the farm. General admission tickets are $50 advance / $60 door, and reserved-seating VIP tickets are $100. Visit the Woodstock Sanctuary website or call 845-679-5955 to purchase tickets.
