Some of my friends would argue that personal checks are a thing of the past. I'll be the first to admit that I use my debit card instead of a personal check in almost every instance that I can.
That, however, doesn't mean that everyone is changing. In fact, my parents and most of my relatives still use checks and some of them use checks on a daily basis. At the rate that they use checks, I get depressed thinking about all of the trees that are being wasted when they could just be using a debit card. But as they say, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". While I don't entirely agree with that saying, getting my parents to start using checks made from recycled paper is much easier than getting them to use a debit card.
If you, or people in your life, use checks, I urge you: switch to checks made from recycled paper!
