Dancing, DJ's, prom photos…and biking? Yes, the fabulous trio come together this weekend in our nation's capital in honor of National Bike Month.
The Washington Area Bicyclists Association (WABA) and Washington City Paper have teamed up to put on the second annual Bike Prom on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Black Cat in Washington, D.C. Admission is $10. The party starts at 9 pm and goes til...
To dress for this year's theme, "Wheeling Through Time," wear your favorite funky period-themed digs i.e.: tweed suits, wool jerseys, cut off sweatshirts, spandex, suspenders, bicycle hats, messenger bags. Dressing up is not required but come on, have a little fun.
Be sure to have you 'prom picture' taken (for free!) from 9-11 p.m. Photos will be posted on WABA's Flickr page. (Check out these awesome photos from Bike Prom 2008).
How to Get the Most of Bike Prom 2009
- Bike to the Black Cat (extra bike racks will be set up at club).
- Dance all night to music (DJ Gavin Holland, DJ Bent, DJ Mary Mack , DJ Jennder, DJ Busca will be spinning. )
- Sport your funkiest threads.
- Vote for Bike Prom King and Queen.
- Get your prom photo taken.
- Enter the raffle (WABA members get a free ticket).

For the serious bikers, get a head start on the party by entering the Courier lead Alley Cat Race earlier in the day at 2:30 pm at Washington D.C.'s Thomas Circle. Participation is $5 and open to anyone.
