Well, all I can say is I tried!
This tired house right on Lake Michigan was not an ideal Murco project. I know what my buyers are looking for and for the most part is wasn't here. Neither were my buyers. Auction day was like pulling teeth! However, we ultimately rocked this house! We were able to find buyers for nearly everything. Every inch of flooring, paneling, wainscoting, the entire brick driveway, even the huge back windows of the house were sold and reincorporated into other homes.
But I really wanted to be a part of this project because the story behind it is so cool. The owners of the house intended to give this house a green makeover. They loved the house but after much research, they determined that it would be unbelievably expensive to "retro green" the property properly.
So, they did the next best thing. They donated their house to TRP. Between Murco and TRP they reduced their waste by 85&perc;. They are building the EXACT SAME house but in a state of the art, totally green manner...or, rather, Totally Green MANOR!
I can't tell you how gratifying it is!
