ANN GENTRY - Chef, restaurateur, food educator and visionary, Ann Gentry has spent the past twenty-five years striving to raise the standard of vegetarian cooking in this country. By combining the balanced approach to macrobiotic food preparation with the ambience and richness of her Southern upbringing, she founded and continues to run Real Food Daily - the only restaurants in the Los Angeles area that serve a 100 percent vegetarian/vegan menu using foods grown exclusively with organic farming methods. Now with three locations in Southern California, the proprietress and former executive chef is the owner of LA's most progressive and highly lauded gourmet vegan eatery. Her restaurants have a recycling program, the menus are printed on hemp paper with soy ink, the table tops are made from refurbished wood, and the lighting is low voltage. They have a special film on the windows to cut down on heating and electricity. She won the sustainable award from the city of Santa Monica. Gentry has been instrumental in raising the profile of vegetarian cooking. In 2005, Ann wrote her first cookbook, The Real Food Daily Cookbook. Ann is also the executive chef to Vegetarian Times magazine, where she contributes recipes and articles about healthy eating and lifestyle.
MARIEL HEMINGWAY - Mariel Hemingway is the author of, Mariel Hemingway's Healthy Living from the Inside Out, promoting a well balanced life. She is very well known for being one of the grand-daughters of celebrated American writer Ernest Hemingway. A successful actress, her first role was with her sister Margaux in the 1976 film Lipstick. Hemingway's most famous role was in Woody Allen's Manhattan. Only 17 at the time, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Mariel strongly advocates a healthy, spiritual and balanced life. Over the last 22 years, she has also been pursuing her passion for yoga and health and is now seen as a voice of holistic and balanced living. She eats only organic and non-processed foods.
LYNNE TWIST - Lynne Twist is a global activist, fundraiser, speaker, consultant, and author. She has dedicated her life to global initiatives that serve the best instincts in all of us. She has raised hundreds of millions of dollars and trained thousands of fundraisers to be more effective in their work. Lynne has spent more than three decades working in positions of leadership with many global initiatives including: ending world hunger, protecting the world's rainforests, empowering indigenous peoples, improving health, economic, and political conditions for women and children, advancing the scientific understanding of human consciousness, creating a sustainable future for all life. She is the founder of the Soul of Money Institute, and the author of the Soul of Money -- a book about our relationship with money and how it governs, dominates, and stresses our life.
DOUG MCINTYRE - Doug McIntyre is the morning host for talk radio station KABC radio in Los Angeles, CA. He has worked as a television writer / producer for over 20 years. McIntyre is known for his interest in politics, though his social views are less conservative than many of his talk radio colleagues. An amateur historian, McIntyre is an expert on the Wright Brothers, whom he has written about for American Heritage magazine. He is also known for using his program to promote contemporary musicians who work within traditional forms of jazz and song. McIntyre and his wife have written, produced and directed the feature length documentary film, Trying to Get Good: The Jazz Odyssey of Jack Sheldon, currently showing at various film festivals around the world.
MARTIN MULL - Martin Mull is an actor who has starred in his own TV sitcom (among numerous other television shows) and acted in prominent films for over 30 years. He is also a comedian, painter and recording artist. Now more active as a mix media visual artist, his work can be seen in various upscale New York galleries. Martin thinks the green movement is wonderful but believes as the earth changes, we will have to adapt and mutate into a species that eats plastic and breathes carbon monoxide.
