Everyday, it seems, there is a new report that suggests the earth is warming at an even faster rate than previously thought. From thawing tundra in Siberia to cleaving glaciers in Antarctica, the signs are clear and foreboding. The a movement to curb the onset of global warming and climate change is gaining ground but post proposed approaches revolve around a strategy of limiting emissions. What if there was something we could do that would actively cool the earth, or at least remove carbon we have pumped into the atmosphere?

Detractors call us global warming 'alarmists.' The implication being that 'alarmists,' people who are concerned that the unnatural amount of greenhouse gas emissions accumulating in our atmosphere is leading to a slew of very dire problems, are exaggerating the extent of climate change to scare others into supporting a liberal, environmentally friendly agenda. Or worse, they're just doing it for attention.

Basically, cloud seeding help stimulate the natural process that produces rain. However, the practice is much more complex than firing rockets into the atmosphere. Find out how it works.

People tend to make lists of places they want to go before they die. But what about places you want to go before the places die? It's hard to imagine the world radically altering within our lifetime—but whether we imagine it or not, it could happen (according to Independent Traveler).

While eco-techies are meeting in New York to discuss greener gadgets, young climate change activists will be convening in Washington, DC, for The Power Shift '09. Billed as the first major youth rally since the election, Power Shift '09 will bring as many as 10,000 young people to the nation's capital to petition policy makers to make decisions to fight climate change.

Last year we sort of made fun of Mike's (pre-treehugger) idea for an artificial partial solar eclipse- a giant reflective orbiting space blanket to reduce amount of sun reaching the earth by a few percent to counteract global warming. Perhaps he should have patented it.

Going green isn't always easy. While there are lots of things—turning down your thermostat, say, or unplugging your cell phone charger—that you can accomplish with minimal effort by the end of the day, still more green actions require a little more planning and organization.
