Timothy Treadwell loved bears. He loved them so much that he was willing to dedicate his life, risking his well being, to study them. Over the course of 13 summers, Treadwell lived with grizzly bears in Alaska, gaining their trust to the point that the bears would allow him to approach and even touch them. Then, something terrible happened.
Grizzly Man, Werner Herzog's award-winning documentary, reconstructs Treadwell's life with the bears from hundreds of hours of video footage, interviews, and the audio recording of the encounter that ultimately cost Treadwell his life.
