Mo and Phil Wilson have a large six-bedroom home, but the space has been swallowed by years of collecting. Over the past few years the house has been home to as many as 12 members of the family, but as the family members move on, they leave all of their possessions behind – Mo can’t bear to part with anything, but Phil too is adding to the junk with his dinky toys and Beano comic collections. Video game machines and enormous TVs also litter the house, leaving the identity of the home under question.
Mo’s eldest daughter Michelle has had enough of the mess and thinks the house needs to be reclaimed. Michelle would love to see the home streamlined, the rooms cleared and her mom happy again.
So Michelle is desperate, but perhaps Mo has more reason than most to want to downsize her stuff. She and Phil want to foster children, and their six-bedroom house could be the perfect setting – but the dream won’t be realised until Mo’s hoarding habit is put to bed.
