READ MORE ABOUT:
Alexandra Stuart-Brinkley has lived in the same house for more than 30 years. Filled with books, glassware and collectibles, her home is literally at bursting point, leaving little room to move. To Alex, her items are her comfort blanket, but with retirement looming she is facing the biggest dilemma of her life.
Alex is aiming to retire this year and move to live with her mom, Daphne in Cornwall, England. This means Alex needs to not only sell her home, but also say goodbye to over 35 years of collections. Daphne has given Alex an ultimatum: either give up her possessions, or give up her dream of relocating.
For Alex, the pull of Cornwall is an exciting end to her working life, but her possessions are leaving her torn and unable to make the commitment to move. Best friend Barbara has been with Alex through the good times and the bad, but even Barbara recognises this could be the biggest challenge of Alex’s life.
This is the Gutted team’s biggest challenge of the series – both in volume and in emotional attachment. Alex knows she has to part with some of her most cherished possessions if she is going to make the move to Cornwall – but it’s easier said than done, and Mark Durden-Smith and Barbara will have to be at their persuasive best if the dream is going to become a reality. Should Alex stay… or should she go…?
