Green Building | Green Community

A community needs a lot of things. It needs a means to ensure its safety and security. It needs access to food, water, and health care. It needs some form of governance. It also needs a means of communicating, both between members and with the outside world. Perhaps most important, however, is that a community needs people who care about one another and the bonds they share.

The town of Greensburg has shown that, even when all of the other things where stripped away, their community was able to survive by virtue of the strength of its people. Since the tornado devastated the town, key elements have slowly returned. It's required a lot of hard work and dedication, but Greensburg is finally creeping back to life.

One thing it's still missing is a venue for artistic expression and entertainment that is open to all. The town believes that by renovating the abandoned Twilight Theater, they can create such a venue.

Plans to rebuild this historic building imagine a space that could screen movies one night and showcase school plays the next. However, the renovation will cost money and in a town that needs to be completely rebuilt this resource can be hard to come by.

If you want to help make this proposed 458 seat theater and auditorium a reality, head over to Greensburg's website to find out how.

Catch up on the latest developments in Greensburg in Greensburg Season 2, Episode 6: Second Anniversary.
