Meet Becky Baeling

Becky Baeling here, interactive and celeb/entertainment correspondent on G Word?.out of the womb in Michigan, New Yorker at heart, currently residing in Los Angeles?. And going as Green as I can for the past 10 years. I am coming to the G Word team as an environmentally conscious artist, with a breath of knowledge and experience in the Entertainment arts as a Musical Theatre performer, Recording Artist, TV/Film Actor, and Music/ Entertainment TV journalist. I dive into life head and heart first, typically learning to swim after I have hit the water? thus I am looking forward to growing in my sustainability practices from working on G Word.

Like many of us, I have been conscious in doing what I can to take care of Mother Earth and our given resources so that we can leave behind a sustainable world for future generations to come. I have recycled for years, been a stickler for energy efficiency and water conservation, and my cousin, Holly Smith Miller, has been a pioneer for composting and organic gardening for many Michigan communities for years. I have also for the last several years been involved with Bette Midler's New York Restoration Project, Environment California and Greenpeace.

I am in awe of the awareness and consciousness that Treehugger.com has put forth in the world and thrilled to be a part of Discovery Channels Planet Green initiatives and hope to highlight valuable, applicable actions that we can all take in our lives to do our part together. Immediately when I came on board I approached those in my field that have inspired me in their Green endeavors from Sting and Trudie and their work with The Rainforest Foundation to Bette Midler?s NYRP to talking with environment activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

On this blog and on G Word I will bring you interviews and activities that will show you how you can ACTIVELY (hopefully even ala Mike Rowe at times) be involved and spread awareness to others with some incredible organizations and companies that are leading the way to help teach us all the value of being GREEN. PLUS, any and all celeb and entertainment insight on endeavors that I can offer from behind the scenes at our shoots to EXCLUSIVE blog interviews. Welcome to a better way of life! OH and although I have some interviews already lined up for my Blog exclusives (ie. Dave Stewert and his endeavors with Greenpeace and Rosanna Arquette and her work with Algalita Marine Research Foundation) if you have some celebrity / entertainment related cause you are wanting to learn more about let me know and I will reach out to them!!
