This week, Focus Earth reports from Washington, where new climate and energy policies are being developed, Denmark, where scientists have announced the effects of climate change may be more severe than once thought, and Wall Street, where the price of oil continues to fall. Then, Bob Woodruff reports from Darfur, where water shortages are becoming a major problem, before talking with Charlie Engle one of the first people to run across the Sahara. Finally, Focus Earth has a special report on the Iditarod dogsled race in Alaska.

First, Yunji DeNies, reports from Washington, DC, where the EPA has released new greenhouse gas regulations. Meanwhile, news from the White House suggests that the president may try to include a new climate change plan into the budget. Together, these could suggest a new hard stance on combating global warming.

Then, Mike Lee has the latest news from climate talks in Copenhagen, Denmark. As part of the meetings, scientists released a report stating the effects of climate change may be more severe than previously estimated.

Back in the United States, Bianna Golodryga visits Wall Street to see how low oil prices have affected the atmosphere. After several weeks of price drops, many people are beginning to think that cheap oil is back for good. Focus Earth looks at what this could mean for renewable energy.

With World Water Day taking place this week, Bob Woodruff travels to Darfur to take a look at the global water crisis. From the United States to Africa, people suffer from a lack of clean drinking water. Focus Earth provides an analysis of this massive problem.

Then, Bob Woodruff follows long-distance runner Charlie Engle, who, after becoming one of the first people to run across the Sahara desert, returned to Africa to combat the continent's water problem.

Finally, Neal Karlinsky visits a summer training camp for huskies in Alaska where they train to compete in the Iditarod dogsled race.
