This week on Focus Earth, President Barack Obama sits down with Charles Gibson to discuss green jobs and his stimulus package. Then, the team looks at the administration's energy agenda, the appointment of Senator Judd Gregg, Toyota's plan to close most of its plants in Japan, the effects of the devastating ice storm in Kentucky and Google's new application for underwater exploration, before examining the state of the Interior Department. Finally, Bob Woodruff sits down with Ken Salazar and Ned Potter reports on emperor penguins in danger.

First, Focus Earth looks at the latest presidential politics. Charles Gibson sits down with Barack Obama to discuss how green jobs and the President's proposed stimulus package could help the economic crisis. Then, Rachel Martin reports on the new energy plan Obama has proposed for the United States and Senator Judd Gregg faces confirmation hearings before he takes the position of Commerce Secretary. If confirmed, will Senator Gregg bring a green focus to finance and commerce discussions?

Meanwhile, Toyota has announced that it will be shutting down all but one of its assembly plants in Japan as Honda unveils a new hybrid to compete with the Prius. Focus Earth looks at what these developments mean for the future of green vehicles.

As Kentucky battled for recovery from an ice storm that left 27 people dead, Google unveiled a new feature in their Google Earth application that allows users to explore the ocean floor.

Then, Yunji DeNies examines the state of the Interior Department. This important federal office is responsible for preserving public land, protecting endangered species, and managing the country's oil and gas resources. How will Obama help restore integrity to this crucial but troubled agency? Bob Woodruff talks with Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar in his first national interview since taking the position to discuss his vision for the department and his position on key environmental issues.

Finally, Ned Potter has a report on emperor penguins who are struggling to survive in the rapidly changing Antarctic climate.
