First, Bob Woodruff reports from Washington, DC, where Barack Obama is hard at work during the first days of his presidency, already freezing all "midnight regulations" proposed during the last days of the Bush administration. One of these regulations would have removed the grey wolf from the endangered species list. Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia's Earth Institute provides further analysis and an outlook for Obama's first 100 days in office.
Then, Bob Woodruff heads to New York City, where community leader Majora Carter has invigorated her Bronx neighborhood by bringing green jobs to those in the most desperate need. Now the director of a consultancy group, Cater provides an analysis of a green economic stimulus package, evaluating whether or not it will help hard-hit communities.
From New York, Focus Earth moves to the Willamette National Forest in Oregon. Lisa Fletcher reports on an eco-vacation company offering exhilarating tours of the forest's canopy. Focus Earth brings the view from this unique ecosystem which is believed to contain more than half of all species living on the Earth.
Finally, Neal Karlinsky follows the Steve Searles who has been successful in keeping bears out of Mammoth Lake, California. His unorthodox methods have earned him the title of the "bear whisperer," and saved the lives of several curious bears.
