This week, Focus Earth looks at Barack Obama's efforts to reinstate scientific data as the measure for evaluating development project's impact on wildlife, California's vote to cut solar power, Gordon Brown's plea to Congress, the newest green cars at the Geneva auto show, and the effects of severe March weather in the Northeast. Then, Bill Blackmore reports on a Washington, DC, coal plant protest and Bob Woodruff leads a roundtable discussion with youth leaders working to fight climate change.

First, Yunji DeNies reports from Washington, where Barack Obama has repealed an effort from George W. Bush to limit the role of science in determining the fate of endangered animals in the United States. The repealed order made independent scientific review of development project's impact on wildlife, including endangered species, optional.

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown made a special trip to the United States to urge Congress to support Barack Obama's efforts to become a world leader on climate change policy.

Then, Focus Earth reports from California, where voters chose to end a proposed solar power project. In Geneva, the annual auto show featured the latest in green designs and a winter storm covered the northeast of the United States in snow.

While protestors in Washington, DC, converged on a coal plant to protest fossil-fuel power plants, Bob Woodruff sits down with two youth leaders who are campaigning to fight climate change. The two leaders helped organize the Power Shift Conference which brought 12,000 young people to Washington to ask leaders to address the important issue.

Finally, Brian Rooney revisits the idea of victory gardens and shows how people are cutting their food costs with backyard gardens.
