Emeril seems to have no problem picking which herbs to cook with on Emeril Green, but what herbs you choose depend on what your taste buds fancy.

Popular choices include basil, parsley, thyme, chives, tarragon, oregano, cilantro, and mint.

Herbal vinegars and salad dressings often use tarragon, chives, basil, dill, rosemary, thyme and lemon balm.

Spaghetti herbs include basil, oregano, parsley, and garlic.

If you are looking for fragrant herbs, try basil, rosemary, mint, lavender, thyme, lemon verbena, oregano, chamomile, and savory.

If you followed the directions from my previous post, you should now have an amazing herb garden growing in your kitchen, so let’s make Emeril proud and put them to good use. Some tantalizing tips for adding fresh herbs to any meal:

• Add fresh herbs to a salad
• Cut fresh parsley and sprinkle over your dish prior to serving for that gourmet meal look
• Sprinkle fresh mint over a bowl of ice cream or fresh fruit
• Create an inexpensive, green hostess gift by filling a small pot with your favorite herb and recipe card featuring the herb for your hostess.
• Fire up the grill, drizzle olive oil over fresh salmon or your favorite fish and layer fresh herbs. Cook and enjoy.
