Planet Green
READ MORE ABOUT:
Mark "Coach" Smallwood is a Green Mission Specialist for Whole Foods, which means he's in charge of keeping the company and its stores as earth-friendly as possible. He's all about bringing in local produce to stores, but when it comes to cooking with these items, he's at a bit of a loss. Tonight, Coach will share his knowledge about the benefits of buying local with Chef Emeril, who will in turn teach Coach a thing or two about cooking up a fantastic meal. This is a one of a kind locally inspired meal you don't want to miss!
TIPS:
- At your grocery store, look for signs that say "local" or note the name of a nearby farm; this way, you can be sure you're supporting your community's farmers.
- Buying local means you're eating what's in season. Not only does your food travel fewer than 150 miles from the farm to the store, but the freshness of the product cannot be beat.
