When you're raising a family, you want to do the best for them that you can. But what if you're trying to green up your family and have some questions..... Like buying local or organic... recycle or compost?

Today we'll meet Debbie, who's the mother of three and passionate about being green. She also wants her children to experience the larger world we live in......the food, the people and the environment. So tonight, we'll give her a healthy Middle Eastern menu of Homemade Hummus with fresh vegetables, lemony Tabbouleh over Romaine lettuce and a new way to make a classic Rolled Honey Three Nut Baklava.

TIPS:

  • Enjoy your favorite foods all year round without flying them in from the other side of the world when they are out of season. Buy them in bulk when they are in season and make relishes, jellies and jams.

  • Become a "Locavore"...Eat foods that are sourced within a certain distance, say, within 100 miles. You'll find local tastes better and costs less.

Recipes featured on this episode:
It's a Good Morning Muffins
Honey Butter
Falafel with Tahini Sauce
Tahini Sauce
Hummus
Tabbouleh
Baklava
