When you grow up in a family of good Indian cooks, you naturally want to carry on the tradition. But what if you don’t know the difference between chutney and curry...but you still want to make Mom proud?

Today we'll meet Tina, a young lady with a rich Indian heritage. She wants to create a meal that will impress her mom. Unfortunately, she missed the day they taught cooking class. We'll help Tina make her mom with an easy Tandoori Chicken, a traditional Basmati Rice With Green Lentils, and something for her friends, a Summer Gin And Cucumber Cooler.

TIPS:

  • Lentils have the second highest level of protein of any vegetable, second only to soybeans.

  • Greek-style Yogurt has a more velvety texture than traditional yogurt. It's low in calories, so it makes a great substitution for sour cream or even cream cheese.
