You know, we all grew up on classic dishes like chocolate cake and macaroni and cheese. We know we need to make healthy choices...but those tasty memories are hard to give up...well who says you have to? It?s all about making smart choices.

Today we'll meet Catherine. She wants to reinvent the classic dishes she loves in a more diabetic friendly way...especially in the brownie department.

We'll give her and updated version of some classics like a healthy millet Stuffed Tomatoes, a lighter Crab And Corn Soup, Asparagus Salad With Walnut Vinaigrette, and for her sweet tooth, Fudgy Brownies.

TIPS:

  • Agave nectar tastes like honey meeting maple syrup. It has a low glycemic index which helps raise blood sugar and insulin levels slowly. It comes in light grade, amber grade and dark grade.

  • Eating just four whole walnuts a day can significantly increase the amount of omega-3 fatty acids in the blood.
