We're all familiar with Chinese Take-out. But have you ever thought about reducing your carbon footprint by making it at home? It's healthier, reduces waste and saves gas.
Jacalyn and her kids love Chinese food. The fat content of take-out and the packaging waste from dinner for eight are two good reasons to think about making Chinese take-out at home. Emeril will teach us his version of General Tso Chicken. Everyone loves Asian Style Ribs and Another Notch Fried Rice. We'll make healthy Baked Egg Rolls with Two Dipping Sauces and the kids' favorite Beef And Broccoli.
Emeril's healthy options for Chinese take-out:
- Feature more vegetables instead of meat or noodles. Ask for extra broccoli, snow peas or other veggies.
- Steer clear of deep-fried options. Stir-fry, braise, or oven-fry.
- Lower your salt. Ask for low sodium soy sauce.
- Ask for brown rice instead of white rice. Brown rice has more nutrition and fiber than white.
