Shaun Murphy is the force behind COOLFUEL, and the man who brought it from idea to reality. Previously a host, producer and writer of the Discovery Channel's Totally Wild series, as well as executive producer, writer, and director of National Geographic's Racing the Moon, Shaun is now the pioneer driving the COOLFUEL adventure. He is transforming the discussion of fuel efficiency and vehicle innovation into one that is fun and exciting, so that it can develop appeal among a wider audience and create more of an eco-impact. He's had the attention of Australian TV audiences for years; now he has the attention of green audiences around the world.
Sparky, the canine of the show, is a fearless Jack Russell terrier who goes just about everywhere Shaun does. The scariest moments for him were probably when he had to doggie-paddle away from the canoe crash, and once he decided to leap off the moving scooter.
And for the crew, it can't be easy to live and work out of a soybean and solar-powered RV equipped with computers and a satellite dish. But these guys do it, and they manage to keep their cool behind as well as in front of the camera. Production manager Teresa Brett doesn't rest until the COOLFUEL team has the resources it needs, the mechanic and technician Marty Brett makes sure the vehicles keep moving (with a penchant for his favorite, the hydropowered vehicles), and field producer Gus Roxburgh ensures that the best COOLFUEL moments are caught on tape for the rest of the world to see and share in the adventure.
