Roadie Blog, Week 6, Duel in the Desert

It's 9 AM and I'm woken up by the commotion around me ? Ludacris, Big Willie, 4-ize, and Sesean are all staring out the windows, confused as to where we are going. Great ? I hope we are not lost. I rolled out of bed to find that we were in the middle of the mountains. It's certainly a change from Atlanta.

Roadie Blog, Week 1, Raise the Roof

It's been a long day and I'm exhausted but I feel like I've changed. I am probably not the only one. We all came on this trip looking for the rock lifestyle amidst the challenges--the partying and the beautiful girls. It's not the easiest thing in the world being on the road all the time and the perks make it worthwhile. But today was not about that.

Roadie Blog, Week 2, Green Death

It's dark and it's late when we land in San Francisco; the perfect time to meet Gene Simmons in a cemetery.

Roadie Blog, Week 3, Trash Talkin'

Today we're in Oakland, just across the bay from San Francisco. It's definitely on between the teams. It's everyone's day off and Luda's team avenged themselves by sending Tommy's out on a fake challenge. While Willie barbecues in front of the bus Tommy's team is out lighting up the East Bay with CFL light bulbs. These are light bulbs that burn longer and a lot more efficiently than regular incandescent bulbs. I like how this green stuff is not just good for the environment, it also saves you a lot of money. Once I get off the road and settle down somewhere I am going to use all of this stuff I'm learning to save a lot of cash.

Roadie Blog, Week 4, Fast Fuel

It's not a tropical vacation for us like I had hoped. We've rolled into Dallas from Oakland. I took some pictures through the bus windows of the sun setting through low slung clouds under a blue sky. The clouds were streaked purple, pink and orange and as tired as I am it made me smile and think of those songs about being under the big Texas sky.

Roadie Blog, Week 5, You've Got Junk Mail

We're in Atlanta, where the drought dries the lawns and the heat sits like a blanket on your shoulders. There's a party going on in Luda's bus as he's rolling into his hometown. In Tommy's bus Johnny Colt is doing a little dance of joy because Atlanta is his home too.

Roadie Blog, Week 7, Wet and Wild

It's sunny in Lake Mead, a gentle 106 degrees under a cloudless and sweltering sky as the buses pull up in front of Wayne Brady. I'm so excited when I see him; I've watched every episode of Who's Line is it Anyway? about 400 times and I've never seen anyone come up with rhyming witty songs so consistently and so fast.

Roadie Blog, Week 8, Heal the Bay

Earlier this morning, while driving along the coast, we got a text message telling us to where to report for our next adventure. Thanks to our savvy bus driver, who knows the coasts of California like the back of his hand, we had a couple of hours to kill so Tommy decided to swing by and pay a visit to Pam Anderson. He was happy to see her again, but it might not of been the best idea Tommy ever had.

Roadie Blog, Week 9, Downtown Battleground

We rolled into the fair grounds bright and early ? 8 AM. By now, you'd think that we were used to early mornings, but apparently that's not the case. After driving through the night, everyone was pretty tired, but they all woke up when they were thrown into jester hats and peasant blouses. We were all pretty confused as to what the Renaissance era had to do with being green in 2008. After all, they can't really expect us to start riding horses in order to reduce greenhouse gasses (can they?).

Roadie Blog, Week 10, Finale at the Greek

This is what we've been working so hard for during this entire tour. Tonight is the benefit finale concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. We are all electric with excitement and I'm like a kid in a candy store. Big live shows like this are why I became a roadie in the first place, to be a part of this. This is what makes all the long days and nights on the road worth it.
