MORE Features of the House:

Energy:

  • The home comes with a two year insurance policy underwritten by Bayer that guarantees the homes heating and cooling bills do not exceed $51.00 per month.
  • The home has a hybrid of lighting designed by Green Torch Lighting, consisting of LED, compact florescent and halogen. This has cut lighting energy consumption by over 70%
  • Reclaimed fireplace mantles supplied by Exquisite Surfaces Beverly Hills. These are 17th century original reclaimed mantle.
  • The house has over 5kw of solar power from Envision Solar & Premier Power.
  • The home has two 21 SEER split system A/C units. These are the most efficient units on the market supplied by LENNOX
  • The house has a complete smart home system from Contro4 that controls lights, air conditioning, blinds, TV, radio, cameras, intercom, pool, mp3, videos and more.
  • Three Noritz Tank-less hot water heaters were used to give instant hot water on demand and save considerably on gas

Lack of Waste:

  • We had a 96.8 diversion percentage away from landfill when the home was being built.

Interior Elements/Design:

  • The front door and the master bathroom vanity are hand made from 90 yr old reclaimed framing lumber from the original house.
  • All iron work is reclaimed and finished in a zero off gassing finish

  • Interior motorized window blinds are for Somfy.
  • All molding in the home is made from recycled Styrofoam called Timbron. This is a great product for molding because it will last for a thousand years.

Kitchen:

  • The kitchen is the most cutting edge environmentally friendly kitchen in the world made by Bazzeo with Fagor appliances. The kitchen cabinets are made from "wheat board", a remnant of the wheat industry. The Fagor appliances are a European staple and the most efficient on the market today. The kitchen has two built in refrigerators, two ovens and an induction cook top. The use of these appliances has cut the kitchen energy consumption by an astonishing 90% over a conventional kitchen.
  • The kitchen features are: All raw materials are toxic free, renewable and exceed all USGBC standards. All manufacturing waste and cuttings are recycled or reused. Low–VOC Lacquer Finishes are applied under environmentally controlled conditions, exceeding the LEED requirement of "Zero to No" off–gassing. All natural wood finishes and veneers are from renewable resources. ABS edge banding (a non-carcinogen) is used when required, in lieu of PVC (a known carcinogen).

Yard:

  • An ecological landscape plan was devised by Eco Partners that included a back yard full of edibles and all other areas natives were used.
  • Over 50% of the rain water that hits the roof is collected and used for irrigation of the property.
  • The pool is salt water, black bottom with ultra high efficient Jandy equipment.
  • Interior doors are solid core FSC mahogany
  • In the rear of the yard we have solar trees for extra solar power.
  • The driveway is made of environmentally friendly interlocking porous pavers.
  • Turf was limited to 20% of the lot for water conservation.
  • The whole home has copper rain gutters for long lasting wear.
