A group of rather unexperienced adventurers head to Alaska to play the game of survival.

Nine volunteers abandon the comforts of their homes to test their ability to survive in a totally foreign--and harsh--environment. After just a three-day crash course in basic survival skills, they are flown to Ttsusena Lake in the rugged Alaskan interior.

After battling Alaska for nearly a month, the group is desperate. The snow has fallen, temperatures have plummeted, and they are out of food. The search for signs of civilization has grown ever more important if they want to make it out of the wild.

The frigid winter temperatures and lack of food are eroding the group's will to survive and Carolyn is slipping nearer to depression. Trish takes matters into her own hands as she goes on a hunting spree to help feed her starving team.

Alaska continues to challenge the group in ways they never dreamed possible and they are shedding pounds at an alarming rate. After failing in their first attempts at bear hunting, they remain determined to go back out and get the big catch.

The long days of constant physical labor, freezing temperatures, and lack of food in Alaska has wreaked havoc on the team. Now, with some outside help, they're on the hunt for bear.

The group takes shelter from the frigid weather under the wing of a dilapidated crashed airplane. Finding food is their main priority as one team member is on the verge of collapse.

Starving and weak, the remaining six team members fight for survival by hunting the second largest rodent in North America.

Alaska has claimed one victim but the group must press on. On the second leg of the journey, the team is faced with many challenges, including a desperate search for food, a brutal snowstorm and a grizzly bear sighting.

Over the course of three days, the group attempts to put to use the skills they've just learned. The group splits up the chores that need to be done: snares are set to try to capture small game, fire is started with flint and steel, water is gathered from a nearby river, and an attempt to catch fish is made. In the end, they are only able to catch a single mouse. Not nearly enough to feed the entire team.

Survivorman Les Stroud guest stars in a special reunion episode of this never-ending adventure. Hear stories straight from the source about what the cameras didn't capture during the treacherous three-month adventure.

It might seem like the hardest part of the Alaska adventure is behind them, now that the volunteers are trying to head back home, but even the journey home is not as easy or as simple as they thought.

The team tries to get from Flower Lake to Hawkins Glacier: don't miss the river crossings, ice shelves and blizzards they'll encounter along the way.
