Everyone's trying to eat more locally produced foods knowing that they taste better and it's easier on the planet. Even if your town doesn't seem like a haven for local producers, seasonal foods can show up in all sorts of places.

Local foods are gaining popularity because, well, they taste better and they're much easier on the planet, but recent fears about the safety of imported foods make local foods that much more appetizing. Tony Corbo at Huffington Post, recently wrote about some of the dangers associated with importing foods.

I finally committed to eating local for an entire week by purchasing only 100 percent local consumer goods, whether from the farmers' market, from my CSA, or from local producers found at the health foods store. This is what I've bought, picked, or gotten from my CSA thus far.
