Just last month, the US Senate voted to pass a bill that would protect 2 million acres of American Wilderness: the Omnibus Public Land Management Act. But it still has to make it through the House if all that land is to be ensured protection. And the Wilderness Society is going to do its best to make sure it does.
Never an organization to sit idly by, hoping for the best, the Wilderness Society has launched an effort to drum up support for the bill. It's the Omnibus Virtual Tour, and it'll give you a close up look at the natural, national treasures that'll be protected if the bill gets passed. It's a great opportunity to learn more about our nation's rich, diverse environments?and to learn why we so desperately need to preserve them.
