The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has launched a new Web site where you can follow six female polar bears around Hudson Bay near Churchill, Manitoba.
"This is a Canadian icon species and it's in trouble," Pete Ewins, director of species conservation at WWF, tells The Star. He travelled to Hudson Bay's Wapusk National Park this past summer to help Canadian Wildlife service researchers outfit two female bears with satellite collars that will transmit data every four days for the next year, after which the collars will automatically detach.
The tracker maps out their movements; they have not gone very far yet, but it could get interesting.::Polar Bear Tracker
