If you're in NYC this weekend and you're into biking, composting, or both—I've got a Saturday plan for you! Join a bike tour of five community gardens in the East Village/Lower East Side. Each stop has a Compost Demo Site to show off: "exemplary composting operations that are committed to teaching New Yorkers about the benefits of composting."

The event is hosted by the Lower East Side Ecology Center and the NYC Compost Project, which has formally recognized all five stops on the tour. Registration required.

Even better that the forecast for Saturday is looking pretty perfect for a neighborhood bike ride and for spending time in green spaces. Meet the gang at 11am at the Union Square Greenmarket—17th Street and Union Square East. Bring your own bike (and helmet, water bottle, etc.).
