Pretenders fans already know that the group's long-awaited album Break Up the Concrete is coming out this month, and that it heralds a rootsy return to form for singer Chrissie Hyndes. And all that rootsy-ness in the music must've lead to some more literal interpretations of the word: if you plant the paper the CD comes packaged in, it will literally grow roots and sprout flowers.
Really. The new CD will initially be released by Shangri-La Music as a 50,000 copy limited edition run printed on eco-friendly packaging. It's handmade seed paper, to be precise, and it's so eco-friendly that you literally bury it in soil, water it, and watch for flowers.
That's right—go on out to The Middle of the Road, or wherever you want, put the seed paper along with the Brass in your Pocket, and plant the paper packaging. Within 1-4 weeks, Viola! You're back on the chain gang with Pretenders-engendered flowers.
Look for the Break Up the Concrete edition with eco packaging to hit stores on October 7th.
