Stop Using Plastic Bags, Save Dolphins

Not to be overly angst-ridden here, but you know what really drives me nuts? People adoring dolphins and then not minding using plastic bags at every opportunity. Dolphins are well-noted for being graceful and highly intelligent animals. We watch them perform at shows. We buy trinkets with their image. And yet, for whatever reason, we (collectively) love to ignore the fact that our plastic bag habit is destroying them.

Dolphins are dying and being washed up to shores. Their autopsies are speaking loud and clear: they are dying from the ingestion of pounds upon pounds of plastic bags. That's right...sometimes plastic bags end up in the water instead of a landfill and then they reek havoc on the sea life.

Over 100,000 marine animals, including dolphins, die every year because of plastic bags. If an animal had a nasty habit that killed off humans by the thousands, I guarantee you that we would be doing something to control that situation. But what are dolphins going to do? Thanks to our own advancements, we are their superior. We have put ourselves in a position of great power on this planet and with power comes responsibility. It is our duty to make sure we aren't mindlessly killing off those that inhabit this earth with us-not because they are the weakest, but rather, because we are the strongest.

Don't support plastic bags!
