READ MORE ABOUT:
One Million Acts of Green (OMAG) is a nationwide initiative set to kick off in Canada on October 21st, 2008. It's being spearheaded by The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos, one of Canada's premier late night talk shows, with support from Cisco Systems.
The premise is simple—get over one million people in Canada to do but a single green act. It can be anything that positively impacts the environment from switching to fluorescent light bulbs to greening your recycling to installing a full blown solar power system. Like I said—any green act no matter how small, big, or unlikely will do.
After doing the green deed, participants will log on to the One Million Acts of Green website to register the act. There'll be an interactive green calculator on the site that displays the net result of all the green acts.
It's an intriguing proposition, and could really instigate a national effort to consider the environment.
So even if you aren't a Canuck, show your solidarity by doing your green act, and drop by the OMAG website to see how those hundreds of thousands of eco-friendly acts are adding up.
