It's like Groupon, for us health nuts.

Despite my best efforts to heed that wise and wonderful quote, "Wherever you go, there you are," palm trees, beaches and warm breezes still seem unparalleled to Brooklyn's gritty -- albeit glamorous in that American-Apparel-sort-of-way -- street blocks.

Yes, I'm 100% wanderlust and not proud. Adding to the challenge of staying put in one place, for at least a little while? A ray of sustainable travel sunshine in the midst of NYC's gray winter days: MindBodyGreen's brand new Travel site. Luckily, this one isn't something to feel guilty about.

If you haven't heard of MindBodyGreen yet, now you have. It's an awesome website delivering all things eco, yoga and health. Now, extending beyond their bounty of interview, recipe and wellness expert article offerings, comes discounts on things we greenie's adore. Think Groupon for health nuts.

In addition to local deals for city-dwellers in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco the freshly announced Travel site offers discounts on featured drool-worthy eco-destinations. Past deals include yoga retreats to Xinalani Retreat in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Playa Viva (pictured here) in Juluchuca, Mexico and a giveaway to a charming eco-boutique hotel in Jamaica. Ski bunnies should hop over to their current deal: a green, spa escape in Lake Tahoe's 968 Park Hotel, right near the snowy slopes.

Tho I'm trying (keyword: trying) my best to keep my travel light, when I do make an escape -- including when I host yoga retreats -- it needs to meet the following criteria: meaningful, unique, and responsibly green. MindBodyGreen's Travel deals so far hit these marks.

I know, I know. "Wherever I go, there I am." But it doesn't hurt when my destination is low-cost, and eco-cool. (Wink, wink.)

Happy, healthy traveling!
