Daniel Fox is an artist/adventurer undertaking a 2 year trek around the world. He'll be hiking and kayaking in locales as diverse as the Aleutian Islands, Argentina, Georgia, and Japan—and he's photographing it all for the Wild Image Project.

Through Fox's travels, we're offered a unique, front-row glimpse of the current state of many of the modern natural marvels of the world, and he's constantly updating his photo journals. Check out his latest adventures over at Kontain, where he regularly adds new photo and video. It's some pretty spectacular stuff. According to this latest one, he's evidently heading to the Great Barrier Reef next.

And he's not kidding when he says he's got the best job in the world?zip around from continent to continent, taking pictures of the most beautiful places on earth? Not a bad gig, I'd say (even if he is flying and driving to jump from place to place, emitting a pretty solid amount of greenhouse gas). But, even though touring in fragile ecosystems is controversial among environmentalists, I do believe it should be done?in moderation, of course. Check out his photos of some of the most phenomenal wildlife and geography in the world, and you might just agree with me.

After all, us folks not fortunate enough to be out in the thick of it still need to know what it's like, right?
