Who better to remind us of the beautifully diverse, big, blue marble we all live on than a bunch of cute and cuddly critters?

Make your Earth Day complete with a dose of conservation by taking a jaunt to your local aquarium or zoo. Many are holding special Earth Day events like the ones accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. Each year, they host their annual Party for the Planet offering special activities, giveaways, and events designed for both kids and adults.

To find a zoo or aquarium hosting a party near you, click over to their website. You simply choose your state from the drop-down menu and a list of options pop up.

For example, in New York, The Bronx Zoo is participating—offering eco-friendly games, musical shows and theater this coming weekend, April 25 and 26. And the New York Aquarium will have exhibits and vendors on hand teaching visitors how go green and workshops to create art from recyclable materials.

The best part? Your trip won’t be only of benefit to you and Mama Earth—but also to your budget. Party for the Planet events are free with paid zoo or aquarium admission!
