You can't help but to love Asheville, an eco-fabulous haven tucked in the picturesque mountains that consume the western portion of North Carolina. Come celebrate the 39th anniversary of Earth Day. On April 19th, there will be an Earth Day celebration in Asheville's MLK Park from 11am to 10 pm with live music, an eco-village highlighting Asheville?s eco-friendly businesses and nonprofits, and a kid's village. Admission is free. Enjoy performances from Josh Phillips Folk Festival, Boo Ray, Mayan Dancing Group, Porter, Batiste and Stolz, Asheville Horns, and tons more.

On April 22, GreenWorks (formally Quality Forward) will host their annual fundraising event from 7 to 11 pm at the Orange Peel in Asheville. The event includes a battle of the bands and for the first time, a homemade recyclable swimsuit competition. For more information on the Greenworks event, visit Asheville Earth Day.

The Environmental and Conservation Organization will also host a celebration, ECO?s Second Annual Earth Day Energy Expo at the Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock with workshops, lectures, and green exhibitors. Visit Eco WNC for more details on the Energy Expo.
