Use MapQuest Gas Finder to Source Alternative Fuels Near You

Internet maps, when used for good, have huge potential to help us find greener things while letting our web browsers do the walking-we've mentioned this before with Google Transit's mapping service for public transportation. Recently, MapQuest threw their mapping hats into the ring with MapQuest Gas Prices, a searchable map to help you find cheap gas.

We're not big advocates for using gas, and that's not the really useful part of this service, for us; they added a very handy "Alternative Fuels" section to their database, so you can search for biodiesel and ethanol, along with fuels of the future, like electric plug-in stations and hydrogen, and even some rarer alternatives to petrol, including compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and even propane.

Just pick your favorite fuel, type in your zip code, and watch as available biofuel (or whatever you're searching for) stations pop up on the map. Mouse over the selections to see where they're located, when they're open, how far away they are, and (of course) directions on how to get there. Now you'll never be left burning petroleum when alternative fuels are what you desire. ::Mapquest Gas Prices
