On Wa$ted, the Zellers have a fleet of vehicles at their disposal. More vehicles, in fact, than drivers. Only one of their vehicles is fuel efficient?their motorcycle.

Since most vehicle trips carry just one person somewhere, motorcycles and scooters are becoming more popular as gasoline is quickly approaching its real cost.

Most of the energy used in vehicle travel is used to carry the vehicle itself, not the occupant, so trimming down the vehicle means less energy needed and wasted. Let?s face it, the average American vehicle has a problem with obesity.

For those who are not ready to give up motorized travel just yet, a scooter or motorcycle purchase is a two-step in the right direction, more than doubling the efficiency of a commute when compared to car.

Since a barrel of oil is twice as expensive as it was last year, driving a two wheeler is like going back in time to yesterday?s prices.

Or better yet, eliminate gas prices altogether and go electric!
