Unknown.

There are many benefits to taking public transit instead of driving, like all the money you can save when you don't drive everywhere, the ease of getting directions on the go. But it's hard to plan on things like traffic jams, accidents, and other roadway and underground issues that makes buses, trains and subways (and you) late. Thanks to a service called NextBus, you don't have to waste time waiting for your chosen form of public transportation any more.

NextBus uses Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking satellites to provide vehicle arrival information and real-time maps to take into account the actual position of the buses, their intended stops, and the typical traffic patterns to estimate vehicle arrivals with a high degree of accuracy. Because traffic variations, breakdowns, and day-to-day problems faced by any transit provider can interrupt service, NextBus was designed to keep you on schedule even if your bus or train isn't.This information is available on the web, or your web-enabled mobile device, so you can stay updated on your bus, train, or subway rides to, from and in between work and home. Find that your bus is late? Switch to another route. See that your train is running behind? Grab a cup of coffee knowing that you cup o' joe won't make you miss your bus. It takes a common hassle of riding public transit--unnecessary waiting--out of the equation and helps make the most of your car-free transportation experience.

Sadly, NextBus isn't available everywhere; check out their website to get an updated list of where their service is available, and don't waste time waiting any more. ::NextBus
